Barely a little rain, brought to us compliments of Idalia, and power goes off. Granted, only for a few minutes, but why?! What kind of third world country—or Banana Republic—is this state?

As if it heard me, now Idalia’s outer edge is giving us quite a show, downpouring with winds. It is kind of odd to see and hear a storm without any lighting. Thunderstorms are a brand around here, but rains brought by hurricanes come with few lightings, and thunders. Just more wind.

Looks like Idalia will not pass close enough to merit a university close down. Local colleges are doing so, though. Experience tell us that is a best to err on the safe side.

Local temperatures (in Celsius). Lovely, just lovely. We are not harming our planet, no. Not happening, nothing to see here, right?

These have popped way too often for my liking, and I adore rain! I mean, if it weren’t because of this, I would be in heaven.

We got to experience for the first time dry heat while in Las Vegas. Though it was much hotter than our local temperatures, I have to say I would prefer dry heat any day. Kind of miss it, actually! 🥲

With the many rains we have gotten as of late, our lawn has grown to a too-healthy state. Time to have a “blast” mowing it. Need to do it today, rain or shine!

Guess what? Yup, it’s raining. Déjà vu anyone? I am going to be so busy, and so tired this weekend!

Another rainy day, and I love it! There are two things that worry me, though: we could potentially lose power (out of these world thunderstorms), and… the grass will grow like crazy, which means I will have to mow it more often. I am getting too old for the second.

Thunderstorms have arrived early today. I imagine thunderstorms as mischievous children or, at the very least, youngsters, naughty and full of energy. Hopefully this one will leave without taking our power. The UPS that powers our router, and main WiFi access point, only lasts 1 hour maximum. I still have three more hours to go before I call it quits for the day.

Tried walking/running again yesterday, after a whole week of COVID. Dear lord, the temperatures are off the charts. I couldn’t do it for more than 20 minutes. Sun was so scorchingly hot! I am now changing plans, and doing all outside activities at dusk.
